About MLK Student Government

The MLK Student Government is an organization made up of elected student representatives and leaders at MLK Middle School. Its purpose is to:

1. Represent the Student Body: Act as a voice for students, ensuring their opinions, concerns, and ideas are heard by school administrators and staff.
2. Plan Events and Activities: Organize school-wide events such as carnivals, dances, spirit weeks, and other activities to enhance student life.
3. Implement Policies: Collaborate on initiatives that improve the school environment, such as budget allocations, school improvements, and student programs.
4. Promote Leadership: Encourage students to take active roles in their community and develop skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

Key roles within the Student Government often include:
• President (Required Grade Level: 8th Grade)
• Vice Presidents (per grade level)
• Secretary
• Treasurer
